Martin Buch delivers a hilarious performance in this romantic comedy by up-and-coming Danish director Mikkel Munch-Fals, which replicates the success of his 2010 debut Nothing’s All Bad, which similarly explored relationship quirks.

Adam (Buch) is stuck in his mundane life. From the outside, everything seems perfect, but his routine has become stagnant. The one thing he looks forward to, are the regular trips that he and his wife make to a swingers’ club to spice up their marriage, though even that is beginning to lose its allure. Arriving at the luxury mansion ready for no-strings-attached part-swapping, Adam finds something unexpected has happened. A new, young vivacious couple has arrived - Patricia and her musician boyfriend. Adam falls head over heels for Patricia, rediscovering his zest for life. However, infatuation and jealousy are not allowed in the swingers’ club and Adam’s crush on Patricia is putting everything at risk.

Swinger is a vibrant and thoughtful comedy that touches on midlife crises of people longing for long-vanished love with the brilliant deadpan, dark humour that audiences have come to love in Danish comedy.

A very warm dramedy about relationships, lust, longing and self-awareness…both wildly fun and quite deep.
