The winner of Norway’s top prize at the Kristiansand International Children’s Film Festival, Room 213 is a wonderfully made contemporary kids’ film that blends a spooky mystery with a coming-of-age tale. Based on the book by prolific Swedish children’s author Ingelin Angerborn, Room 213 beautifully captures young female friendship against the backdrop of a summer camp ghost story.

12-year-old Elvira arrives to her first summer camp feeling anxious and upset because her best friend couldn’t join her. She’s just getting settled in with her new roommates Bea and Meja when a burst water pipe in their room forces them to move to Room 213 – where no one has stayed in 60 years. Strange inexplicable things begin to happen to their belongings, and the girls grow suspicious of one another. That is, until they discover the story of a girl who died at the camp six decades earlier. Could this be the same red-haired girl in a white dress they have seen sneaking through the corridors at night?

All tickets $15
